Stages of Life: Essential Nurturing for the Childbearing Year
     with Elizabeth Rose, BS, LMT, RMTI,

Fee for Massage for the Childbearing Year Certification Training: $1950 + tax (payment plans available)

This 150-hour program is an empowering journey into the heart of the feminine: as nurturer, as mother, as sister, as professional and wise woman. It is designed for women who want to enrich their knowledge, intuition and skills in working with women during the fascinating journey of Motherhood. Through the sacred pathways of self-healing, informed thought, and conscious awareness, students will cultivate even greater skill as massage therapists in the areas of nurturing touch, pre-and post-natal massage, and labor support. In-depth study of anatomy and physiology for the stages of pregnancy and labor will provide a strong foundation for massage therapists to work with women in broader private and clinical settings. Personal and professional integrity and ethics of working with Women in the Childbearing Year are emphasized throughout the course. Students attending the entire training receive a Certification in Massage for the Childbearing Year, as well as a Pre-Natal Massage Certification. Students attending Segments Two and Three receive a Pre-Natal Massage Certification.

All segments include Discussion and Sharing of - Required reading, journaling and clinic assignments - Cutting edge videos - Guest speakers - Live panels of local professionals in the field, as well as parents.

April 16-18 · Segment One: Pre-Pregnancy
Friday - Sunday (9am-6pm - 24hrs)
Fee if taken individually: $360 + tax

This weekend will cover: Course Overview - Intro to Self-journey into the Heart of the Feminine (self-responsibility and care) - Pre-conception strengthening and cleansing - Topics related to: Miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, abortion, stillbirth, infertility, adoption - Introduction to Family Constellation work to address these issues - Intro to side-lying position, energy work, basic polarity holds - Jin Shin Do neck and shoulder release.

May 14-16 · Segment Two: Pregnancy Part I
Friday - Sunday (9am-6pm - 24hrs)
Fee if taken individually: $360 + tax

This weekend will cover: In-depth overview of physiology and anatomy of pregnancy - Unique to each trimester: changes and main adjustments and issues (physical, emotional, familial); common discomforts; applications and benefits of massage, acupressure and healing touch; contraindications and pathologies - Working with the couple/family/single/teen/alternative families - Demo Prenatal Massage with supervised practice among students.

June 4-6 · Segment Three: Pregnancy Part II
Friday - Sunday (9am-6pm - 24hrs)
Fee if taken individually: $360 + tax

This weekend will cover: Review Demo Pregnancy Massage learned in Part I - Supervised practice review amongst students - Supervised practice with pregnant mothers.

July 30 - August 1 · Segment Four: Labor and Birth
Friday - Sunday (9am-6pm - 24hrs)
Fee if taken individually: $380

In this weekend, topics of study include: history of childbirth in America and Northern New Mexico (current status) - Birth practice in Indigenous cultures - In-depth overview of physiology and anatomy of normal stages of labor and birth - Common hospital procedures and their risks - Preventing Cesareans and epidurals - Facing the worst - death of mother or child, birth complications and trauma (application of Family Constellations) - Families/dads at birth - Home versus hospital birth - Water birth - Use of alternative modalities for pain relief and release of emotional obstacles: massage, nurturing touch, acupressure, aromatherapy, visualization and hydrotherapy.

August 27-29 · Segment Five: Post-Partum & Infant Considerations
Friday - Sunday (9am-6pm - 24hrs)
Fee if taken individually: $380

This weekend topics include: In-depth overview of physiology and anatomy of post-birth and post-partum changes - Emotional/familial changes and issues - post-partum depression - Birth trauma recovery - Applications and benefits of massage and other alternative healing modalities to assist post-partum recovery - Breastfeeding - Infant considerations: Birth trauma - Circumcision - Infant massage and cranio-sacral work - Co-sleeping - Vaccinations - Post-Partum Demo Massage and supervised practice with post-partum mothers.

September 18-19 · Segment Six: Healer Heal Thyself
Saturday - Sunday (10am-4:30pm - 10hrs)
Fee if taken individually: $160

This weekend covers: Your personal "landscape" in working with the profession/medical community - benefits, issues and concerns - Measures for protection/clearing/healing - Measures for healthy release emotional attachments and obstacles - Family Constellations for personal healing - Closure: Designing your own "Welcoming Ceremony" for healing your own pregnancy/birth experience.

Clinic - 20 CE Hours
Dates and Times: TBA on individual basis
Total Clinic may cover: Prenatal and post-partum massage with clients - Attend one birth with a midwife or doula - Attend prenatal yoga or childbirth class series - Participate in Many Mothers post-partum program - Attend Family Constellation workshops - Attend other instructor approved Clinic Experience.

Materials: Students will be required to purchase an Essential Nurturing Manual, several books, and 4 pillows and pillowcases (2 king, 2 standard - firm, not feather) totaling about $150.

Instructor:
Elizabeth Rose NM RMTI #93, is a contemporary Wisdom Keeper not unlike matriarchal women of indigenous communities of the past. She has practiced and taught Massage for the Childbearing Year for 23 years, been a Prenatal Massage Instructor for 18 years, attended 100+ births as a Midwife Assistant and Labor Support Doula, and is a mother to her inspiring 20 year old daughter, Maia. Elizabeth is a skilled and heartful teacher, acknowledged for her gentleness and support of women in their childbearing year. For fifteen years, she has also co-produced and co-hosted a local, socially conscious weekly radio show, Transitions Radio Magazine. Most recently, she has become a Certified Family Constellation Facilitator of Bert Hellinger's transformational work.
